The male is about 5 mm large while the female is about 7 mm. The body of the male has a deep black color while the body of the female is brown and white. They live in dry meadows and forests.

Genus Evarcha Species are found in silken cells in low vegetation in the open. They are not colorful and are sturdy, solid-looking spiders.

This well known and widespread genus are stocky, dull brown colored spiders, often associated with shortish plants in damp areas. The cephalothorax is thick, the top fairly flat with the rear of the thorax and the sides very steep.

The carapace is a broad oval, longer than wide and truncated at the rear.

The abdomen is oval, slightly pointed near the spinnerets. The legs are not particularly long but quite spiny, with legs I very slightly more robust than the others.

A spider genus of the Salticidae family (jumping spiders).

Both sexes reach a length of about 7 to 12 mm. Viciria is a colorful genus similar to Telamonia. However, the very long, thin opisthosoma of Viciria is almost cylindrical, and the color patterns differ. Viciria often shows a single broad longitudinal stripe with a pattern of black dashes on the opisthosoma. A white median stripe is present on the cephalus of the female.
